Writing, design, printing and publishing, every book have gone through the same journey , and finally distributed to reader as complete the life of book. However, many books may not be able to finish such a journey. Under the contribution of local publishing industry , books have two different life. One is sent to the stores while the others are accumulated in warehouses. Perhaps, this is the final terminal of them to become obsolence stock. In order to reduce the inventory pressure , it is very often to clean up these obsolence stock, including going directly to the destruction. The exhibition is entitled “Death and Rebirth of books”, raw materials are came from obsolence stock whose are being destroyed. We invited artists who are related to the work of book . They are either made of the book, selling books, or the designer of the book. They have different perspective of book which depends on their professional. Under the recycling of these artists, the life of book has changed. The processes endowed with multiple possibilities of reading, and hopefully impart the chance of rebirth to the books.

The same book located on a shelf , or coffee table ,placed in the bathroom or lied on the ground , leaning against the wall. Then paper started getting yellow and folded slightly . On the other hand, after the owner finished strenuous exercise, there were some clothes lied at the bottom of the backpack . He was carefully to avoid the backpack from pressure. The value of books depends on its state of being placed. Publishers distributed the books whose are being destroyed to the artists and use for recycling. It was a chance for exhibitors and visitors to determine the book value together

The text should be nicely settled on its destined place. I remember I was so excited to have my first book design job when I was an undergraduate. However, the outcome is not satisfied due to lacking experience. Afterward, I was shock to meet it again in a book fair. It’s like exposing an embarrassing history to the public. I beard in mind I have to be responsible to the book that I involved in production. Books are like songs. They will be broadcasted somewhere sometime and all of a sudden while the pleasant notes are depends on the participant’s passion.
